Update!
July 2024
ACT state and territory nomination program is open now.
The 2024-25 ACT state and territory nomination program visa allocation is 1,800 nomination places:
-
ACT permanent 190 nomination: 1000 places
-
ACT provisional 491 nomination: 800 places
This is a massive 50% increase in allocation compared to that of 2023-24 FY.
All the states utilized their allocated visa nominations for state and territory category apart from South Australia, which had nominated 778 applications for the subclass 491 stream against 850 allocations.

As part of Migration overhaul strategy the Government has put more emphasize and focus on State and Territory nomination program. State and Territory nominated visa allocation for 2024-25 is set at 33,000. This is an increase from 2023-24 FY, where the visa allocation was 30,400. Albeit the visa allocation was 30,400 on last FY, the states received only $16,700 allocation among them which is a discrepancy from the initial allocation. We are expecting more allocations for states this year and there is a possibility that the state wise allocation can closely match with that of the total allocation. WA also have received 10000 allocations for 2024-25 FY, which is more than fourfold increase from that of last year.
