What is the ACT Critical Skills List?

The ACT Critical Skills List outlines occupations currently in high demand in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). If you are seeking ACT nomination, this list is essential for applying for one of the following visas:

• Skilled Work Regional Visa (subclass 491)

• Skilled Nominated Visa (subclass 190)

If your nominated occupation appears on the ACT Critical Skills List, or if you are currently employed in an occupation listed, you may also claim points in the Canberra Matrix, increasing your chances of receiving an invitation for ACT nomination.

Occupation Caps

To manage demand, a cap may be placed on the number of ACT nomination spots available for each occupation on the ACT Critical Skills List.

If the monthly cap for your nominated occupation has been reached, you may not receive an invitation to apply for ACT nomination until the following intake period.

The ACT Critical Skills List was last updated on April 18, 2023, and applies to all Canberra Matrix applications, regardless of the submission date.

This list is reviewed and updated annually before the new financial year to ensure the ACT Migration Program remains aligned with the evolving skill demands of the ACT economy.
